My name is Maria, I am a textile artist specializing in handcrafted tufted rugs. My work explores the dialogue between folk culture and contemporary textile design, drawing strong inspiration from Mexican folklore.
Every rug I create is a reflection of personal storytelling, emotions, and cultural motifs. Using vibrant colors and textured surfaces, I aim to create tactile experiences that engage both sight and touch.
I approach rug-making not only as craftsmanship but as a form of artistic expression, where traditional techniques meet my personal aesthetic. My rugs are designed to occupy space as art objects and to resonate emotionally with the viewer.
Each piece begins with a vision — a symbol, a feeling, a story from folklore. Using a tufting gun and professional wool yarns, the design comes to life thread by thread, color by color.
The result is a textile object that functions both as art and as a living element of interior space — designed to become a focal point, to be touched, to be felt.
"Textiles with soul — fusing ancestral craft and personal storytelling."

Inspired by Mexican mythology, Día de los Muertos, and the feminine force of transformation. In the center is a shamanic woman — part goddess, part guide — offering a human heart in one hand and a dog in the other.
This piece is both a vision and a ritual. The fiber becomes altar, memory, and myth. Through texture and color, I explore textile as a sacred language — rooted in folklore, transformation, and inner power.

Inspired by the ancient symbol of the Tree of Life, interpreted through a contemporary, intuitive, and emotional lens. The tree grows organically across the soft surface, blooming into stylized buds and round white blossoms — each one slightly different, like breath.
This work speaks about memory, fertility, emotional continuity and softness. It is a soft textile object, but also a living symbol.

This installation is about how humanity is united in one breath. Bright human figures form circles around the Earth, moving together in one dance where there are no borders or differences, and every voice becomes part of a common choir.
The faces of the people in this work are transformed into sunflowers — symbols of light, life, and resilience. In Ukrainian culture, the sunflower embodies loyalty, love for the land, and the inner strength of a people who turn toward the sun even in the hardest times.

Selected as a featured artist in an international group exhibition showcasing emerging contemporary talents. Presented two original hand-tufted textile artworks as part of the "Barcelona Open Art" series, curated by The Holy Art Gallery.
